Sarah Spahn
F&B Manager
"The strength of the team is each individual member. The strength of each member is the team."
I have been an integral part of the Birkenhof family since 2011.
Starting out small, as a hotel management trainee, I would never have expected where this path would take me.
In the meantime, 12 years later, I have gained a lot more experience and have always been supported in my career by the Fichtner family.
Every new position I took on consisted of new challenges and I didn't manage everything perfectly right from the start. In this hotel, I have learnt to "grow up" without losing the fun of the job.
Because it is precisely these two points, fun and passion, that pave the way for a fulfilling professional life.
My areas of responsibility are very varied and I often like to poke my nose into every department.
However, I'm mainly your contact for planned celebrations or events, and I work with my colleagues to help you plan and organise them.
And when I'm not in the thick of things, I also like to be behind the scenes organising things.
Because one thing I know is that behind me is a team worth its weight in gold, which you won't find everywhere and which completely reflects my ideas of how to be the perfect host!

Restaurant manager
Man does not live by bread alone...after a while he also needs a drink!
The Birkenhof hotel and restaurant has been my professional home since 1 January 2019. I am employed as a restaurant manager.
I learnt my trade in a 5-star hotel in Aschaffenburg. I learnt a lot there and that's exactly what I use every day and pass on to my team.
It takes a certain nonchalance, but above all a perfect demeanour and professional advice. When you leave our restaurant with a smile on your face after a few pleasant hours and are happy to come back, I know that we've done a good job.
I organise my day individually depending on my workload. I like to be in the centre of things and guide you through your stay in the restaurant. But it also includes organisational tasks, training, placing orders and much more.
I particularly enjoy creating new drinks and pimping up our range of beverages. Whether fruity, sweet, sour or slightly bitter, I have something for every taste!
Perhaps I will soon be able to convince you personally of our charm, good food and delicious drinks.

Chef de Rang
Where love sets the table, it tastes best!
I joined the Birkenhof team in 2015.
I completed my apprenticeship in a country inn in Alzenau and worked there for 12 years.
When the business was sold, I was recommended the Hotel Birkenhof by regular guests at the time, and luckily there was also a job vacancy at the time. Fate?
Because 8 years have already passed and I wouldn't have wanted to miss them.
Right from the start, I felt very comfortable and integrated into the team.
The size of the company is perfect and I really like the personal and familiar atmosphere. You simply feel that you are in good hands and we give this feeling back to our guests every day.
I have already been able to inspire many guests from my former business to visit the Birkenhof, because it is particularly important to me to maintain contact with guests.
Inspiring new guests, keeping regular guests happy - that's what makes the job so special. And even after 20 years in catering, I am still happy to have chosen this industry!
Ferdinando Raponi
Breakfast service
Give good humour a chance and a face early in the morning!
My name is Ferdinando Raponi and I bring a little Dolce Vita to the Hotel Birkenhof.
As a passionate amateur chef, I bring Mediterranean flavours to breakfast and conjure up a little bit of Bella Italia on our breakfast buffet. I bring my professional experience from years of working at the Landhaus Hotel Waitz.
Not only do I love to spoil our guests with culinary delights, I also enjoy creating a pizza or a delicious risotto for my colleagues for lunch.
The well-being of our guests and the friendly team spirit are just as important to me as my passion for my job and my attention to detail, because, as we all know, the eye eats too.

In training as a hotel manageress
There is no more honest love than the love of food.
Turning your passion into a profession is a way to master your everyday working life with joy and, above all, success in the long term.
I've been fascinated and interested in working in a hotel from a young age, so in 2022 I got down to business and applied for a hotel management traineeship at the Hotel Birkenhof.
Well, what can I say, all beginnings are definitely difficult. You are challenged but above all very much encouraged here.
The team always has an open ear for us trainees and I am happy to have chosen this company to start my career.
I'm looking forward to the next few years and I'm excited to see what else awaits me!
