Margit Fichtner built up the Birkenhof with courage, hard work, and great personal commitment, shaping it over decades. The Birkenhof was much more than just a business to her. It was her life's work, her home, and a meeting place for family, employees, and guests alike.

With her down-to-earth nature, her warmth, and her tireless dedication, she accompanied generations and laid the foundation for what the Birkenhof is today. Many employees, regular guests, and companions associate personal memories and great gratitude with her.

With Margit Fichtner, we have lost not only the founder of Birkenhof, but also a person who always combined family, work, and hospitality. Her work lives on at Birkenhof.

The funeral service, followed by the urn burial, will take place on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. at the cemetery in Steinheim Süd.
