Volksbühne Hanau

Every year the "Volksbühne Hanau" organises performancesof known and unknown plays from october till march. Starting with classics like Goethes "Faust" or Shakespeares "Hamlet" or well known operas and operettas like "Aida" up to simple comedies - everybody will find a play to his taste. The performances take place in the "Comoedienhaus" in Wilhelmsbad, the only "Scheunentheater" of Germany, where you will find a homelike atmosphere. Bigger and more feastful are the performances in the Congress Park Hanau, the ancient town hall, here you will see operas, operettas or the really great classics.  

Kultursommer

From June till the end of July the ciy council of Hanau organises a lot of cultural Open-Air-performances,  which are shown by the artists at the Fornhof, the Goldschmiedehaus or in Wilhelmsbad. The programm vary from cabaret about acrobatics up to big concerts.
One of this concerts, which crowns and terminates the Kultursommer is the "Wilhelmsbader Summernight", an open-air-concert on the park promenade of Wilhelmsbad. Since 1998 different songs and compositions from Smetanas "Moldau" up to "We are the champions" will be played by the philharmonic orchestra of Frankfurt in each! weather.

Reihe Kultour

Since 2005 different cabaret artists, singers or dancers showcase their programm at the Comoedienhaus, the Kult.urCafé Amadeo, the Café-Bar Central and at the Amphitheater. Every year the programm is a potpourri of political cabaret, chanson performance, or salsa- and tango-shows. n der alljährlich bunten Mischung finden sich zum Beispiel politisches Kabarett, Chansonabende oder Salsa- und Tangodarbietungen. Organised and patronised are all performances by the city council of Hanau.
